SAT with David

Engineering mindset applied to standardized testing

I have a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, and spent five years working as a Quality Engineer before transitioning into full-time SAT tutoring.

I have access to 100+  REAL previous SAT exams (all of which I have personally completed) and I am constantly updating my resources, meaning that I am up to date on gradual changes of the ‘meta’ of the DSAT.

SAT tutoring experience
Personal SAT score (800 Math, 770 Verbal)
of students tutored, many reaching 1400–1500+

What realistic progress looks like.

No tutor is able to guarantee results. Scores depend on factors like starting level, timeline, and outside practice. That said, based on past students and recent SAT exams, students who engage consistently tend to see meaningful improvement over time.

Having coached hundreds of students across all starting levels, I find that those who commit to the assigned homework generally achieve these score ranges after ~20 hours of tutoring:

Starting: below 1000 Typically 1200 – 1300
Starting: 1100 – 1200 Typically 1300 – 1400
Starting: 1200 – 1300 Typically 1350 – 1450
Starting: 1300 – 1400 Typically 1400 – 1500
Starting: 1400+ Typically 1500+
